From The Principal's Desk

Westering High School has a history to be proud of and in 2020 we celebrated our Jubilee anniversary.  Over the past 50 years the school has created rich and proud traditions and has woven a rich tapestry of achievements, involvement and caring.

I have been the principal of this wonderful school since 2002 and I have watched the school grow, transform and achieve great heights during these 19 years.

My colleagues and I work extremely hard to create opportunities for our learners to develop, grow and experience valuable new and lasting building blocks to help them in their future lives.  We hope that these building blocks will help them to develop into caring citizens who will achieve success in life and continue to make our world a better place for all.

As you navigate through our website you will notice opportunities are created and implemented in academics, sport, service, pastoral, leadership and cultural activities.

We have a well-qualified corps of 59 educators and 26 support staff members.  We are also very happy to have a full-time School Counsellor.  We are very proud of our matric results over the past 20 years with an average of a 98% pass rate and an 80% Bachelor pass rate.

Westering High School works very hard to maintain our grounds and buildings.  We are proud of all our facilities, especially of the Bruce Abrey Astro Turf, the Heath Cricket Field and the Akers Rugby Field.  Over the past 20 years we have added 11 new classrooms to our building and 2 new theatres/auditoriums.

We also adapted our teaching methods and now have e-learning classrooms with our learners utilising e-books on their tablets/laptops.

We are very excited about what the future holds.  Together we can achieve new and better building blocks and traditions for future generations.
